Obviously the legal Privacy situation is difficult and different everywhere around the world. Risk Management organizations do not have a common base to work from today. We also know that without dedicated Privacy knowledge available we will fail sooner or later with all the consequences going along with that.

I have published on http://ITRiskSpace.com the latest story explaining some of the definitions used around the world to better understand what the different functions like Business, IT, Risk Management and the Information and IT Security team can do to be better prepared.

By the way, in case you are looking for some guidance on web application firewalls WAF have a look at http://itriskspace.com/2009/02/13/1234523520000.html

OK, I was asked by PeasandBananas to mention this charity. Now, as I always suggest to everyone, I checked it out.

Never support or give to a charity without first checking it out.

I checked various chapters of NAMI, reviews, and State Revenue agencies regarding income and expenditures…as well as the BBB report.

I assist in the operation of a Registered charity myself ( Children and Youth In Crisis www.childrenandyouthincrisis.org ) so I am very concerned with how people give and whether or not what they give is being used appropriately and if it has any actual impact.

I’ve checked out a lot of charities over the years as I have been involved with several in some odd 30 years in various capacities and I look at each with a very critical eye.

I would not recommend anything to you that I have not personally checked out myself. For all intents and purposes NAMI rates very high on credibility and financial responsibility…but I’ll let the BBB Report speak for itself:

NAMI

From all the information I gathered about this charity I would recommend it…and consider it to be ‘ safe ‘ to give.

………………………………………………….

( Don’t be fooled by charities, there are some excellent small-time or relatively unknown charities that are very good, and many large and well-known charities that aren’t. Don’t base your giving on what you ‘ think ‘ you know, base it upon what you DO know. )

keeperzoo

Keeper of the Zoo seems to be very well written with interesting stories concerning everything but Zoos, maybe the name is really a metaphor for life.

The Blog talks about different  locations, her dogs, her art…and Amanda’s art concentrates primarily ( from what I can see ) upon the character of various wildlife, and by all accounts is actually pretty good.

She is now the owner of Zoo Crew Pet Care pet-sitting service in Forest, Virginia and a partner in The ARTiculates Studio in Lynchburg, where she sells her paintings, photography, and hand-made jewelry.

Generally speaking I think anyone with a talent to showcase should avoid Blogger.com and Wordpress.com blogs, as they typically are more suited to people who just want to blog their thoughts.

My own personal advice would be to purchase a domain and hosting, and create a site focused primarily on the art…then set up accounts at RedBubble and devianART to promote the artwork.

Unless, of course, the art is merely a hobby without serious commercial interests…but, as I see it, the art is good enough to be commercialized and should be.

Overall I very much liked the site and think it was well worth the visit and the review.
